// Getting Started

Downloading the Game

Download the latest version of TardQuest Launcher. In the Edition dropdown, select TardQuest Online II and hit Update. Once the game is downloaded, hit Play to start your adventure.

Creating an Account

On the login screen, hit Register and follow the prompts. Your character is tied to your account — progress is saved on the server. Stats, inventory, Bitcoins, and floor progress all persist between sessions.

Your First Floor

You spawn at the entrance of Floor 1. The map is dark — you can only see two tiles in front of you. The minimap in the corner shows explored tiles as dots.

Immediate objectives on Floor 1:

  1. Find the Exit (E) tile to descend to Floor 2.
  2. Look for Healing Tiles (H) — glowing floor tiles that restore HP.
  3. Loot any Treasure Chests (T) you find.
  4. Fight or run from roaming enemies.

The Interface

The screen is divided into several panels:

Combat Basics

Enemies roam the dungeon. Walk into one (or it walks into you) to start combat. In combat, you have three options:

Turn order is based on SPD (co-op only at the moment).

Bitcoins

Bitcoins (BTC) are the only currency. You earn them by:

Spend BTC at the Merchant who appears on rest floors. Buy consumables, weapons, armor, and rings. Enhancements at Erok's forge cost BTC as well — see Items.

Death & Respawn

When your HP reaches zero, you die. A death portrait plays, and after a moment the game reloads and returns you to a safe floor. Your inventory, stats, and Bitcoins are preserved across death — you lose nothing except your current floor progress.

Falling through cracked floors is an instant kill regardless of HP. Watch your carry weight — overloaded characters are more likely to fall through damaged floor tiles.

Rest Floors

Every several floors, a specially generated Rest Floor replaces the normal dungeon level. Rest floors are larger, shared between online players, and do not spawn regular enemies. You can see and interact with other players on the same rest floor.
